Financial Controller Required in Dubai Role Focus: To assist and support the CEO & Head of Finance to ensure: UAE and US GAAP reporting compliance Regulatory compliance Effective management of the financial operations Effective management of the compliance Effective management of the risk management duties for the company Key Activities: Ownership of category P&L, including all budgets, forecasts and management reporting Providing commercially sound financial analysis for ad hoc projects, including cost effectiveness, commercial viability, operational capability and financial audit/ controls Be a true Business Partner to the commercial teams, providing accurate and timely financial analysis of key commercial initiatives providing joint business planning support Preparing, analyzing, posting and reconciling revenue movements for clients not on administration systems. Performing reconciliations between the administration systems (Ira and TPA) and the general ledger (PeopleSoft). Providing data and analysis for inclusion in the Management Information pack - Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support key business decisions Raising journals for the general ledger. Reviewing journals for the general ledger prepared by other team members Review and analysis of individual entity balance sheets Management of periodic in-depth analysis of key performance indicators for individual clients Lead ad-hoc local finance projects as required Completion of quarterly VAT return Analyse new signed treaties to identify system updates required to record new business at an appropriate level of granularity. Management of direct admin feeds to the ledger ensuring that any issues are escalated/resolved in a timely manner Maintenance, circulation and monitoring of the month end reporting calendar and task completion for reinsurance related tasks The role supports the financial reporting process of the company to the International Finance team and the local regulatory and statutory reporting for the legal entity. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and experience: A qualified member of a recognized accounting body e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent; Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the finance function in UAE and preferably in the insurance sector. Ability to work with deadlines. Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Access; Previous experience of using a general ledger system.
