IT Support Administrator Required in Dubai
We are looking to hire a Level 1 IT Support Administrator who will be responsible for responding to IT tickets and providing technical support to staff and students at one of Dubai’s leading universities.
This is a 3 month contract position and will be renewable based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Respond to support requests from faculty, staff and students via phone, email or ticketing systems such as Service Now. Provide timely and effective resolution of issues.
Hardware and Software Support: Offer technical support for hardware and software problems, including troubleshooting, maintenance and upgrades for faculty, staff and students.
IT and AV System Setup and Maintenance: Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot IT and AV systems in classrooms, lecture halls and other campus areas. This includes projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, and video conferencing.
Event Support: Configure IT and AV equipment for events, such as microphones, speakers and projectors.
Hardware and Software Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including setting up new computers and configuring software applications.
Preventative Maintenance and Software Updates: Conduct preventative maintenance on IT and AV equipment, perform testing and quality assurance, and manage software updates and patches.
Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors to coordinate repair and replacement of IT and AV equipment.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to faculty and staff on the use of AV equipment software and hardware. Assist with troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Knowledge of AV systems, including audio systems, video conferencing equipment, and projection systems.
Experience with Windows and Mac operation systems, hardware and software troubleshooting and networking.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Experience with ticketing systems and documenting support activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education technology support.
Familiarity with Creston, Extron and other AV control systems.
Knowledge of video production and editing software.
Familiarity with learning management systems such as Moodle.
Availability:
As this is position is only available on a three-month contract we will only be considering candidates who can start immediately, with no notice period to serve at a previous company.
